Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer is a mod for Fallout 4, created by Caliente and Ousnius.
Description:
CBBE replaces the vanilla female body that all adult female characters (player and NPC) share, with one that is fully customizable with the BodySlide tool. By default there are three nude options available that don't require anything but installation, as well as lore-friendly underwear styles for these body shapes (using Beth's own unused underwear meshes).
These meshes have a total of over 21k vertices - compared to the vanilla body's modest 1750 - for optimal smoothness. In tests there have been no reports of these high-poly meshes causing any slow down, but may still be too much for weaker systems to use, so be warned. Also, as a separate download, are a selection of vanilla outfits converted to CBBE and BodySlide.

Fallout 4's high resolution texture pack has been released, and it's free for the taking—though it requires a hefty chunk of hard drive space and the recommended specs are steep, calling for a GTX 1080 with 8 GB. I don't quite meet those requirements (I have a 980), but I still wanted to take a look at the new textures, see how they compared to the standard ones, and find out how much of a performance hit I'd take.
I actually had to download the 58 GB texture pack twice—the first time, it didn't seem to activate, and when I checked the Fallout 4 DLC tab in Steam, it said it wasn't installed even though I'd just spent an hour waiting for it to download. I checked the box, and it began downloading all over again. So, I waited another hour.
The second time I tried, I couldn't immediately tell if the high resolution textures were in place, but as I walked around in the game carefully peering at things, I gradually began to notice a difference. Sort of. Check out the images below, and slide the vertical bar back and forth to compare the images. The original textures are on the left, the high resolution textures are on the right. There are links to full-size images below each slider.
Full-size version here. I started in Diamond City. You can see the main difference in this shot is the texture on the canopy, which is a bit more detailed. Not much else is different, at least that I can see. Huh.
I headed to my settlement at the drive-in, because I wanted to see if the textures on my various suits of power armor had been upgraded.
Full-size version here. While I didn't see much of a change on the armor, or even on the armor crafting frames, I did notice the rusting steel beams along the ceiling in the background looked a bit different.
So, I walked over and stared at the ceiling.
Full-size version here. Not only is there greater detail in the rusting beams, you can clearly see the wood grain in the ceiling fan. If you're a fan of looking up at ceilings while you play Fallout 4, this should make you happy.
This next one had me scratching my head. There were clearly some changes, though I can't really say that one is better than the other.
Full-size version here. Hmm. The puddle is a little different? The dead grass looks like it has moved a bit? I don't know. Nothing I ever would have noticed unless I took two pictures from the same spot. For wet broken pavement and a pile of garbage, I think both versions look perfectly lovely.
I head off to Prydwn, the Brotherhood of Steel's airship, to squint at some steel.
Full-size version here. Again, I wind up focusing on the wrong thing. I assumed the wheelchair would look a bit different with the high-res textures, but the changes actually wind up being the wall behind it, and the floor, both of which show much greater detail.
How about Nick Valentine's office? Nick isn't there—I can't recall where I left him, probably on a farm or something—but I nose around his desk for a while.
Full-size version here. Nick's desk shows a bit more detail in the chipped paint, though nothing else looks like it's changed.
I could go on, but walking around staring at things, taking a picture, saving the game, quitting the game, then starting the game again to take another picture with slightly different textures is about as boring as it sounds. I think you get the idea—some things look a little more detailed, some things don't appear to have changed at all.
Also, the only way I can figure out how to disable the high res texture pack once I've installed it is by using Nexus Mod Manager. Bethesda, in its announcement post, said you can disable the texture pack using the game's launcher menu, but I don't see any way to do that.
Update: Bethesda responded to the above paragraph, suggesting that the DLC can be enabled and disabled via Steam. The easiest way (I found) to do that is by right-clicking Fallout 4 in your Steam library, choosing properties, navigating to the DLC tab, and checking/unchecking the 'install' box for the texture pack. I'd only point out that I did that after initially downloading the pack (as I said earlier) and when I rechecked the box it made me re-download the whole thing a second time. Honestly, I think it's easier to do with Nexus Mod Manager, especially if you're already using mods, since you can just check/uncheck the file there, but take your pick.

As for performance, I ran around for a while, specifically around the Medford Memorial Hospital area, because there are tons of ghouls on the streets nearby, and tons of mutants outside of the hospital, and at least three tons of mutants inside the hospital. With the texture pack enabled, I didn't notice much of a performance hit. Fallout 4 is capped at 60 FPS anyway, and with the original textures I rarely dip below that. With the high-res textures enabled, I played for a good fifteen minutes and rarely saw my FPS drop below 55.
My verdict? Well, I do like the increased detail, though it certainly doesn't look like all of the textures have higher resolution versions. I'm not sure it's something I'd really notice unless I was creeping around specifically to take pictures. And, losing a few frames every now and then isn't a huge deal. But!
My main issue is the 58 GB of space this texture pack takes up. The drive I keep my games on is 465 GB, and while that feels pretty roomy I still do have to delete games fairly often to make room for new ones. Throw in video captures and screenshots, and even with a drive double that size one could run out of space pretty quickly. It's worth it if you really like detailed metal surfaces, or you're trying to take fancy screenshots, but I'd rather use the space to keep another game installed.

Immediate Edit: I guess I should have used a more specific title. This will cover things in the world - landscapes, plants, buildings, weather, lighting, and an ENB. It will not cover creatures and player items like weapons, clothing, armor, and chems, nor will it cover character mods like CBBE. That list is here. Sorry for any confusion about the contents of this post.
I saw a pretty popular post last week, asking about recommendations for textures and other visual enhancements. This is a list of the ones I use. I'm not saying they're the absolute best, nor am I saying that they're the only options, nor am I saying that you ought to use them. However, I am pretty pleased with the way my game looks, and thought I'd share.
Since it's all textures, it won't be complicated to install. To handle overwrites efficiently, I generally start with the mods that change a lot of textures, so that by the end, I'm installing things that only change 1-2 items at a time. In this list, I'll have it broken down into categories. The sorting and categorization probably won't be perfect, but it should be good enough to make the list more readable.
Here are my thoughts on whether to use 2k or 4k textures: It depends on how much you stare at it. Do you love wandering around, staring at the ground, looking for rocks? Then spring for the 4k textures for rocks and landscapes, and maybe reevaluate some choices. If you don't, then use the performance or 2k version. I normally use 4k on things that are seen on actors - weapons, armor, clothes, etc. I also use it on things I look at a lot - enemies, for example, because I shoot them from afar and then have to get right up to them to loot. Use whatever you want, that's just the rule of thumb that I go by.
As an FYI, I have an i5-4690k and a GTX 970 with 16 GB RAM. On the the list!
First Large Overhaul - install this first to sharpen up the vanilla textures, always overwrite this
-
GraFix Texture Overhaul - I don't even know if it makes a huge difference, but I use it. Get the Armor, Everything Else, Interiors, Props, Set Dressings, and Vehicles modules.
Other Large Overhauls - install in any order you want, there will be overwrites on some things
-
Fallout 4 HD Reworked Project - outdoor/industrial set dressing
-
HD Texture Pack - Miscellaneous Props - clutter items; I also get the 4k workshops and the 2.1 pre-release
-
High Resolution Texture Pack - Valius - office/workshop set dressing
-
Langley's HD Textures Workshop - all kinds of stuff
-
Stromberg Retexture Project - all kinds of stuff
-
FlaconOil's HD ReTexture - again, all over the map
Environment - Nature - this includes sky (not weather), plants, ground, rocks, etc.
-
FAR - Faraway Area Reform: LOD - I use the main file and the bump maps
-
Vivid Fallout - Landscapes - the whole Vivid series here is amazing; pick whichever size you'd like for each of them
-
Vivid Fallout - Rocks - I pick up the normal maps file too
-
Vivid Fallout - Trees - what it says on the tin
-
FO4 Sun - less bloom, more radiance
-
Fallout Texture Overhaul - Moon - I use the 2k version
-
Fallout Texture Overhaul - Stars - I use the 2k mixed version
-
Grasslands - I use the unhealthy version. There is some clipping through floors in a few places - a place in The Castle, Sunshine Tidings - but it's not too bad and is actually better than some other grass mods. Still though, it happens.
-
OpTicTrukZ's Plants and Herbs - I also get the optional file for the tato vine
-
Delightful Ivy - I use the rusted brown version, but there are many colors to choose from
Environment - Inhabited - includes things you'd find around people
-
Realistic Roads - I use the faded version
-
Prydwen 2k Textures - sharpen up the airship
-
Better Quarry Sites - also does the railing and some industrial stuff found at quarries; I don't use the 2k normals, but it's there if you have a monster PC
-
Church Walls 4k - no 2k option, but a huge improvement
-
Haul'd Out 4k - get both warehouse and pier, 1-2-4k options, no holes options; I use 2k with holes
-
Industrial Objects Retexture - get rid of the annoying blue/red walkways
-
4k Poster Textures - posters are brighter and much clearer
-
HD Flag Replacers Redux - great textures, lots of options in FOMOD installer
-
Less Crap Debris Textures - does exactly what it says
-
Park Benches Retextured - I use Natural Dark to maintain the worn look, lots of options though
-
Better Computer Terminal - I use 2k Dirtier
Settlements and Structures - really a continuation of the last category, but focused on the player's settlements
-
4k Castle Retexture - much improved textures, should go onto the wall patches and other things like that
-
Better Bed Mattress Textures - I use the Realistic Cleaner version
-
Better Settlements and Camps 2 - I overwrite the wooden shack floor of this with Langley's, or something like Shack Floors Redone, to avoid the repeating white and red stripes.
-
HD Red+Black Power Armor Station - wasn't a fan of the vanilla yellow, replaces both stands
-
Jangles Shack Replacer - just replaces the Jangles blankets on the shack walls with something less child-oriented. Plus, how many of the exact same blanket can a settlement have?!
-
Mannequin Retexture - the workshop object, not the world ones
-
Red Rocket in Wood - I install this first, then overwrite with...
-
Really Red Rocket - to get the look in this album. Neither are critical, as Langley's improves the grey walls to look better, if you don't want fancy gas stations
-
Repaired Sanctuary Roofs - still broken, but not so hopelessly broken
Miscellaneous - covers everything else, hopefully just 1-2 objects at a time
-
Enhanced Blood Textures - pick your options in the installer
-
Burnt Books are actually Burnt - books, I use 2k
-
Burnt Comics are actually Burnt - comics, I use 2k
-
Burnt Magazines are actually Burnt - magazines, I use 2k - Print Color
-
Overdue Book Retexture - brighter, so you don't miss them; also have desaturated versions
-
Pre-War Books Retexture - really noticeable on bookshelves in settlements
-
Delightful Dead Fish - I use the unhealthy version
-
Draklores Toolboxes - I use bright red because it's 2k, but dark red and yellow are available in 4k
-
Duffle Bag Retexture - choose which one in installer
-
Fatman Crate Re-Texture - it really looks like it'd contain mininukes now
-
Gnomestraviganza - upgrade for the Far Harbor gnomes
-
HQ Bathroom Stalls - as grimy as a post-war bathroom should look
-
HQ Impact Decal Retexture - prettier bullet holes
-
HQ Lockpicking Interface Retexture - a nicer view when you're playing the minigame
-
Jester's Better Fire - indeed, better fire
-
Magazine Rack Retexture - just the vanilla kind that's flat, I use the 2k version
-
Office Paper Debris Retexture - also covered in one of the overhauls, but I prefer this one
-
Ojo Bueno Milk Vending Machine - The Ojo Bueno mods aren't critical, because the items are covered by overhauls. I do like his work though, so I use them.
-
Ojo Bueno Nuka-Cola Machine - I use the Full 2k versions for all of them
-
Ojo Bueno Port-a-Diner - yellow and blue options available
-
Radio Re-Done - pick options in installer
-
Steamer Trucks Retextured - I use Steamer Truck 1: Olive and Brown and Steamer Trunk 2: Red.
Visual Effects - mainly deals with lighting and color
-
Better Fake Reflections - can do weird things with some ENBs
-
Fallout 4 Enhanced Color Correction - I prefer the brighter colors to the washed out look
-
Fr4nsson's Light Tweaks - I'm using indoor only, but outdoor and both-in-one are available
-
Darker Nights - I use one of the middle levels of darkness, and get the two patches you'll need for the weather mods
-
Red Rocket's Glare Redone - lights up the Red Rockets, I use the AIO Less Bright
-
Starlight Drive-In and Diner - lights up Starlight and the diners, I use the Less Bright version
-
Subtle ENB - I use the version with no DOF
Weather - clouds and rain and stuff
-
Radiant Clouds and Fog - more realistic fog, prettier clouds
-
True Storms - I use this one because it's close to vanilla, but better. There are others for a more stylized look.
And that's pretty much it. Thanks for checking out this super-long list. Hopefully you found a mod or two that you like. Please don't forget to endorse the mod authors when you're using their stuff.
If you have any suggestions, or things I missed, or just want to list some of your own favorites, please do so. I'd love to hear what others are using and see some mods I missed before. Here is an album of a settlement I just built - it uses the set up described here if you want to see what it all looks like in game, though in a pretty limited scope.
Thanks for reading.

This is just a import from the official Nexus Site mod page. All text bugs and issues will be fixed with the time being.
This Mod List and Load Order Guide is the fully detailed and explained process to achieve a Great Fallout 4 Modding experience at smooth fps and close to Bethesda's Fallout 4 Game Idea.

- This would be a great achievement after months of daily updating this project, and since we reached a great overhaul, i'd really like that more people at least try this.
REQUIREMENTS
- Fallout 4
- All Dlcs (NO HD TEXTURE PACK) - To disable that HD Pack you just need to untick it from the steam library page, where all downloaded contents are displayed. It gives no balance between quality/performance. They are not such great textures to excuse such performance loss
Lets make a scheme:
Vanilla textures: 7/10 quality and 5/10 performance - HD official pack= 7.7 and 3 - Texture Mods= 6.9 and 8
- A Beginning Knowledge of Nexus Site, Mod Organizer/Nexus Mod Manager, Personal Folders Directories and Modding.
SUGGESTIONS
1) Modlist is in Order, Loot can be used only to make it sort masters (esm), plugins (esp) must stay in this order.
2) Overwrite Everything. if i don't say different.
3) Green Mods are a Must Have or Highly Recommended Mods that i want you to install if you follow this modlist.
4) Orange Mods are Optional Recommended but that people can skip freely to enhance performance, stability or to play an intended way.
5) Do Not Install Everything! This Modlist is not meant to be installed All, start with Green mods if you don't know how much you can handle, and then if your performance stay high you can start with easy Orange mods, 1 or 2 per step, you can install more settlements mods over clothes mods and so on, more clothes over weapons. If you have a great pc system then try to install more. I Never Recommend to go over the 150 plugins, better around 130 or less.
6) Read the Official Mods Description to know how a mod works in-game, leave an endorsment to that mod if you loved it and donate that author if you can or want.
7) If you see not text near a mod then you just have to install the main file only, of your preference if there are more.
8) This Mod-List is tested and meant to be played on Survival Difficult. It may be unbalanced in Others.
9) Test the modlist each 2 steps to see if it's working. I recommend you to install my clean saves file, but they are meant only for graphic and performance preview.
10) If you have doubts or you are not sure what you doing, Just Ask, its better to improve modding knowledge and to avoid useless mistakes.

I made another thread earlier today about the texture mods that I use. It covered parts of the world - landscapes, set dressing, buildings, clutter, etc. This one will cover the textures on actors such as creatures, weapons, armor, clothing, and items. It'll also cover character customization stuff, because I don't know where else it'd go. It won't cover any standalone anything (unless it's incidental, like D.E.C.A.Y.).
The reason I'm sharing this is because I hope it will be helpful. Plus, I mess around with mods more often than I really play these days so I enjoy it as well. All of this to say, it's just the mods I use. I'm not saying they're the best, or the only ones, or the ones that you're wrong for not using. Hopefully, you'll find something useful.
Creatures - I install more or less in this order.
-
Wasteland Creatures Redone - don't install deathclaws, bloatflys, ghouls, or super mutants. If you do, just overwrite in the next steps...or use these. They're good too.
-
D.E.C.A.Y. - Better Ghouls - of all the ghoul mods I've tried, this one is my favorite. Seems like it's currently expanding to include ghoul-related items, crafting, and other stuff.
-
Jester's Better Bloatflys I use the 4k, but 2k is available
-
Super Mutant Redux - more than just a texture replacer, as it adds new types of mutants and makes all mutants stronger. Still though, they do look nice.
-
HD Super Mutant Eyes - a retexture for the eyes
-
Synth Overhaul - C.A.S.T. - applies the additional color palettes to synths in the wild, allowing for more variety than just white
-
Vibrant and more Sharp DLC Robots - makes them just a bit cleaner and sharper
-
Protectron HD - I use the 4k, but skip the 4k spec/normal maps
-
Crows and Creatures - I use the crows, seagulls, and rad roaches
-
Fallout Creatures Normals - higher detail normal maps; optional, but I prefer using them
-
Wasteland Grunts - redoes the Gunners, giving them rolled up sleeves, which I love.
Player Character
-
Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhanced - CBBE, a classic.
-
Nuclear Nudes - use the CBBE installer
-
Valkyr Face Texture - I use just the face texture because of CBBE, but there's an excellent body texture here too if you use the vanilla body.
-
Normal Eye Map Fix - fixes small halo around eyes
-
The Eyes of Beauty - another classic
-
Ghastly - Ghoul Eyes - better ghoul eyes
-
Human Commons Realistic Teeth - better human teeth
-
Realistic Hair - doesn't add any new styles, attempts to improve the vanilla hair - dubious effect, see comment by /u/gronkjuice.
Power Armor - no standalone paints or types, just texture upgrades
-
The PA retextures that I use are by Avallonkao, but they have been removed from the Nexus. Womp womp. I have used the Fallout Texture Overhaul PA mod before, and can recommend that as well.
Armor
-
GraFix Texture Overhaul - sharpens up the vanilla textures, you'll be overwriting this a lot
-
4k Combat Armor Retexture - can be used with palette replacers like Custom Combat Armor
-
Brotherhood of Steel Kit - improvement for the BoS gear
-
HD Raider Armor - improves armor and some raider clothes
-
Glowing Children of Atom Armor - adds a glow map to the CoA marine armor
-
Real Leather HD - I use the main file, the reduced specular file, and the alternate shadow specular file to avoid any shiny leather.
-
Robot Armor Retexture - I use the 4k Black
-
Mechanist Armor Retexture - I use the 4k version
Clothes
-
Fallout Texture Overhaul Pipboy - pick options in installer
-
Army Uniforms of the Wasteland - I prefer the old school look, so I use the WWII version, but the others are good too.
-
Tactical Operator - a retexture of the Wasteland Grunts mod from the Creatures section
-
Proto Vault Suit - not too far off from vanilla, but still an enormous improvement
-
Eyewear and Mask Retexture - This is so much better than vanilla, especially the patrolman sunglasses.
Weapons
-
All Weapons HD - start with this, as you'll overwrite it throughout the rest of the section
-
Better Handmade Weapon Textures - gets rid of that awful orange metal on the pipe weapons
-
Assault Rifle Retexture AR-51 - darkens up the metal on the weapon
-
Better Recon Scope - makes the recon scope black instead of white
-
Gauss Rifle Retexture - optional black shroud if you prefer
-
Gorgeous Glowing Plasma Weapons - I've used this for so long that I forgot how underwhelming the plasma weapons are without it. Adds glow maps to the weapons, mines, and grenades. Can also change the color of the maps and projectiles.
-
Scratchmade - Combat Shotgun and Rifle - made by Millenia, what more needs to be said?
-
Scratchmade - Double Barrel Shotgun - I mean, my goodness.
-
Tactical Hunting Rifle - I went with black
-
10mm Pistol - Stahl Arms - this doesn't really fit the asthetic of the game, but I do like it. I use it, and it seems to be pretty popular, but imershun and all.
Player Items - some of these are probably really clutter, but they're things you probably pick up regularly
-
Ammo Retexture - different levels of wear, also options for colors of shotgun shells and ammo casings
-
Bobblehats - makes you want to collect them for a reason other than the stat bonus
-
Bottle Labels Overhaul - I'm personally not a fan of well known brands popping up in game, so this is my preferred bottle texture
-
Chem Redux - I use the glowing .esp version
-
Fusion Core Retexture - I prefer the used, glowing version
-
HD Energy Cells - I use the Mass Fusion standard version (main file)
-
Realistic Pre-War Money - pick your denomination and dirtiness
-
Subway and Library Tokens - makes them look better and allows you to tell them apart more easily, I use the 1k (recommended) version
And that is it. Between this and the post mentioned in the introduction, that covers all of the mods that have an impact on the visuals in my game. I hope you found something you like.
Please add you feel I've overlooked, or make any recommendations that you prefer. Thanks for reading.
